Welcome to the website of the Wombwell Musical Theatre Society (WMTS) - formerly known as The Wombwell and District Amateur Operatic Society. We celebrated our 90th anniversary in 2023 and look forward to performing for many more years and reaching our Centenary!

We are going through a name change at the moment, so bear with us whilst we update everything here on the website, our email address, Facebook, Instagram etc. This should only be a fairly short transition stage.

Just published, a good review for our Pantomime, Aladdin - which ran last week (20-23 March 2025) - this is from NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) which support amateur theatre across the UK. Well done all involved in the Panto and all those supporting!

NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME!

New members are always welcome to join us…! If you have a capabilities - whether in singing, dancing, acting or backstage activities like stage managing, lighting, sound, set design, costuming etc, then you will find a good home with us! Our adults group takes people from 16+. We also have a Youth Group taking children aged 8-15 years of age - see Youth Theatre Group page for details.
